Self-Billing Invoices

Self-Billing Invoices are purchase invoices that you draw up for purchases from suppliers who cannot provide you with an invoice. A use case might be buying second hand materials or machinery from private individuals.

Activating Self-Billing Invoices

The document type 'Self-Billing Invoices' is something that first needs to be activated in BestInvoicing:

  1. Navigate to the top right corner of the screen (email address) and select 'Apps and Integrations' in the menu.

  2. Check the list of 'Apps and Integrations Related to Documents'.

  3. Click the green button 'Activate' on the line mentioning 'Self-Billing Invoices'.

Creating a Self-Billing Invoice

As soon as this document type is activated, it can be used immediately. A new line 'Self-Billing Invoices' will appear in the general BestInvoicing menu to the left.

The structure and layout of a self-billing invoice is analogous to that of an invoice.

In order to create a new self-billing invoice, click the green button '+ Create Self-Billing Invoice'.

You can enter the customer's details, describe the purchased product(s) and set the price. From the summary window, the document can be sent or printed, in line with other BestInvoicing documents:

Additional Settings

Via the 'Default Values' page you can set a default bottom text that can be used on your self-billing invoices. Read here how to create such a default bottom text.

When creating a self-billing invoice, you can still change the bottom text manually.
